Conference/ Workshops/ Seminars

Every year, the Department conducts International Tiger Day, World Tourism Day Special Lectures and Seminars and invites scholars from various fields. On the occasion of the International Tiger Day and PPT presentation by the students and competitions are being conducting.

World Tourism Day, Karnatak University Diamond Jubilee Celebration Memorial Lecture and special lectures and events are conducted in the Departement.

In March 2018 Two Day National seminar was organised.

In 2019, During World Tourism Day, a series of special lectures were organised and we signed MOU with Hotels and Travel companies of Hubli - Dharwad to facilitate training / Jobs to the students. Prof B P Veerabhadrappa, Vice Chancellor, Kuvempu University Shimoga inaugurated the events.

In 2008, National Painters Workshop and National Seminar on Pattadakal. A World Heritage site was organised. In March 2018 Two Day National Seminar on Tourism spectrum held in the Department in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Amarkantak (MD) Dr Sandeep kulshreshtha inaugurated the event and scholars from different sectors delivered the lectures.

As a part of academic activity, we are regularly conducting workshops, personality development classes for students.

Special lectures from eminent scholars are arranged for the benefit of the students. Scholars like Dr. Vishweshwriah, Smt. Poornima Srikrishna, Dr. B.G. Mulimani, Dr. S.V Padigar, Dr. S. Vinay, Dr. A. Sundara, Sri. Vinay Luthra, Sri. S. Kallur and Dr. Dasok, have delivered lectures on themes like a bird watching, Salient Features of Indian Constitution, Natural Justice, Right to Constitutional Remedies, Scientific Temper, Tanks, Philosophy of Sankara, and Pre-Historic Art and Branding.

TOURISM is most emerging sector of economy in India and also it is one of the most rapidly growing areas of creative and competitive commercial activity with huge potential of showcasing India’s multifaceted culture and cuisine to the travelling public-both indigenous and international and at the same time of generating vast employment opportunities in transport and hospitality sectors and of earning foreign exchange.
